Purpose
  • Cultivation of global human resources in the areas necessary for strategic growth of the country and provision of opportunities for overseas study for socially vulnerable classes

Types Screening Application qualifications
Overseas study General
  1. Those who graduated (expected to graduate) from a domestic university or has an equivalent level of education
  2. Must have outstanding academic performance, certain level of foreign language proficiency and Korean history knowledge
Low-income family Those corresponding to general screening application qualification + qualified recipient or lower income class
Engineer/ technician Those who graduated (scheduled to graduate) from domestic university or holder of equivalent or higher academic degree with academic performances in foreign language and Korean history are above the prescribed level Those who graduated from specialized high school or meister high school, etc., and worked for more than 1 years at small and medium business or hold equivalent work experience and is currently working at small and medium business
Training Engineer/ technician Those who graduated from specialized high school or meister high school, etc., and worked for more than 1 years at small and medium business or hold equivalent work experience and is currently working at small and medium business

※ Those scheduled to graduate: Those who will graduate in August in the corresponding year

  • Application method: Apply through online and submit documents → 1st documentary screening → 2nd interview screening →
    Final selection of recipients → Preliminary training → Start overseas study
Selection method
  • Graduate and Undergraduate Program
  • 1st Document screening

    Performances in foreign language exam, Korean history exam
    (corresponds only to overseas study),
    academic performances at school, external activity performances
    related to the major being applied for, plans for overseas study
  • 2st Interview screening

    Basic and specialized knowledge in the area of selection,
    mental attitude including view of the country and sense
    of duty, etc., responsibility, creativity, volition
    and possibility of progresses

  • Scholarship (annual amount of $40,000 or $50,000 for USA), Airfare
