EPIK was established in 1995 and is affiliated with the Korean Ministry of Education. Since its inception, EPIK has had the goals of improving the English-speaking abilities of Korean students and teachers, developing cultural exchange between Korea and abroad, and of introducing new teaching methods into the Korean education system.
To help accomplish these goals, EPIK invites responsible, enthusiastic native English speakers with a motivation to share their knowledge and language with Korean students and teachers within the Korean public school system throughout the country.
We hope that EPIK will help foster and encourage open-minded Korean individuals who will be able to take advantage of all the things this new age of i nformation and globalization has to offer while promoting cultural exchange and building strong ties between Korea and other countries.
Take the opportunity and join us by applying to the EPIK Program. You’ll get a great start in a teaching career all while making a difference and experiencing Korean culture.
What is EPIK Plus?
EPIK Plus is a new option of applying to the English Program in Korea (EPIK) that provides priority processing, higher chances of placement, and an all-expenses-paid workshop.
Applying through the EPIK Plus option will expedite your application for faster processing. Upon completion of a successful interview and document review, successful candidates may be placed in rural schools throughout the Jeju and Jeollanam (Jeonnam) provinces.
The teaching contract under EPIK Plus is a standard contract under the respective Offices of Education. As EPIK Plus placements are in rural areas (including small islands), successful candidates may end up working at multuple schools and have long commuting times.
Although EPIK Plus applications have the benefit of priority processing, we cannot guarantee placement as the final decision is made by the respective Offices of Education. Applicants that are unable to secure a placement through EPIK Plus will automatically have their application changed to the regular EPIK direct application option and be recommended towards any placement within Korea.
How to Apply
Under "Classification" at the start of the EPIK online application, please select "EPIK Plus (Jeju, Jeonnam)" and follow the instructions listed.
Once submitted, your application will be prioritized during the initial review stage and we will reach out to you when we are ready to continue processing, or if there is any missing information that we require of you. Your application will be processed towards any EPIK Plus placement within the designated provinces.
